Hourly Rate Services
Services are typically billed in “blocks”, equivalent to five (5) hours of work at $72/hr AU. Rate estimated at an average maximum of 3000 words per 5-hour block of copyediting. More blocks can be purchased for documents requiring additional work, in consultation with Asterisk.
Two week turnaround time on hourly rate services. Rush rates apply for quicker turnaround.
Provide a .docx file of your document for copyediting and receive back your original document, a tracked changes copy, and a copy with editorial comments. We promise not to let Generative AI touch your precious copy… ever.

Asterisk Academic Services uses Zotero to collate and store referencing material. Zotero is an open-source referencing software that uses word processing plugins and internet browser extensions to make adding citations a snap and editing bibliographies a breeze. You can download it here. (Not sponsored, just a big fan.)

Used in the Social Sciences and Psychology, the American Psychological Association (7th edition) referencing style is an in-text, Author-Date citation style.

Favoured by the Humanities, including disciplines such as Theology and History, the University of Chicago’s Manual of Style (18th edition) is primarily a Footnote style of citation.

Some theological and biblical studies publications prefer the Society of Biblical Literature’s style guide… even Chicago 18 defers to its fellow notes-bibliography style in some instances!
